Our Christmas

Christmas this year was wonderful. Much better than last year since I was recovering from a 4 day hospital stay. This year on Christmas Eve we had friends over during the day for lunch and to hang out. It was wonderful to catch up with them again since we hadn't seen them since November. We then just hung out at home the rest of the day. At bedtime we put out cookies and milk and read the story "The Night Before Christmas". The kids were very excited about Santa coming.

Christmas morning Braxton woke up at 6. Nothing too unusual for him. He then ran to wake up Makenzi. We decided to let Arianna sleep and the older kids open presents. I have never seen so much paper fly. They were so excited. Presents were open by 7 am and the kids were happily playing. Arianna woke up and opened her presents. Yes she actually could open her own presents...she loved the paper. By 945 we were on the road and headed to my parents to help them prep our brunch that was to be served at 11. My mom makes the best breakfast ever. We had Omeletes, french toast, sausage, bacon, toast, fruit salad, pumpkin rolls. We then cleaned up and went on to the presents. Now to paint a picture they have 8 grandchildren (ages 13 to 7 months), 3 children who are all married, plus the two of them. So it is a house full of craziness. We came away with the best stuff again. Braxton got a barn made especially for him by my dad (my dad's dad made my brother one when he was little and that was being passed to his son). Makenzi got a 16" bike, Arianna got a beautiful dollhouse shelf and they all got much more than ever expected. Scott got a battery charge and clothes. I got the best gift ever. I recieved a beautiful storage bench and matching shelves. It is perfect. Plus much more stuff.

We spent the rest of the day with my family since we are doing Christmas at the inlaws on the 3rd of January. We hung out and let the kids play together, the adults got to visit and just relax. My house looks like an explosion occured but it is so worth it all. Christmas was wonderful. Here are some pictures for all of you to enjoy.
