Long Night

What a night we had here. I need some sleep that is for sure. I went to bed at 1030, Arianna had me up from 1-2, Kenzi came down at 210 sick. She was then puking every 30 minutes until 4. 410 Braxton came down upset and wanting to cuddle. B feel back to sleep at 440, Kenzi was sick again at 5. Then she was up at 6 to use the bathroom. Arianna was up at 630 for the day. Arianna never wakes before 9-930. I am not sure what the tag teaming was about last night but I hope it doesn't happen again anytime soon. Kenzi is very upset that she is missing her first day of school.

Well they are both still sleeping and Arianna went down for a nap so I am going back to bed. Hopefully nobody else gets this flu bug.

Lab Results are In

After all that I still have no answers. Go figure. The doctor ordered a Celiac Sprue Panel on Monday night. Now we went through this panel with Braxton in March and I have done lots of research. My comparison:

Braxton less than 1 tube of blood taken
Me 2 tubes of blood taken

Braxton 5 tests ran
Me 1 test ran supposedly.

Braxton all the test results at once.
Me only 1 test result back.

Either they only ran 1 test or all of my test results aren't back yet. That one test result is negative. They should have ran a tTg IGG, tTg IGA, Glidian IGG, Glidian IGA and an EMA. Braxton had all of these ran and was positive on the Glidian IGG and IGA tests. According to my results (yes I went and got the results) they did and IGA test...doesn't even tell my if it is the tTg or Glidian. Braxton went to Quest Diagnostic Lab and I went to St. Mary's. So there is a difference there obviously. I should have went to Quest. Oh well. I guess if my doctor can't give me answers I will wait for Ann Arbor...maybe we will have to do the DNA testing. Although 700.00 a person with no coverage from insurance is not an option. Although maybe/hopefully the Ann Arbor doctor can get insurance to cover the tests...sometimes they can. Maybe I will have more answers on Monday...lets hope.

Lab Results

Well they are in but nobody can give me the results yet. I called the doctor and they haven't seen them yet so I called St. Mary's Medical Records and they had them there but couldn't give me the results of course. The doctor called to get the results faxed to them but Medical Records never faxed them as of 5:15 tonight. I am not very happy. Thankfully my sister in law works at St. Mary's and is going to get the labs for me tomorrow. I wrote a letter asking them to release the records to her. Here is to hoping that they will give them to her. I don't want to wait all weekend. I guess if she gets home and they didn't give them to her I will be driving to St. Mary's tomorrow afternoon.

Braxton Update

Braxton had to go to the ENT today for a follow up on his ears. The tube in his left ear is out of his eardrum and not doing any good. The doctor wants to follow up in 6 months unless he has any problems in the mean time. If he gets any ear infections we will be placing a new tube into his ears.

Still no results on my labs...hopefully tomorrow if not I will be calling on Friday for my results.

Oh boy...the ball is rolling.

I called my doctor today and asked for her to mail me a lab slip for Celiac Disease. Hopefully she will do so. I am nervous to have it done yet hoping that it will give us some more answers. I am hoping that if mine comes back positive that it will save Bracky boy from having more tests done. I guess we will have to see. I hope to have my results back before B's appointment in the end of May. I should if the doctor is fast about sending the lab slip to me. I am hopeful that my test is negative but I highly doubt that it is. I will not be shocked at all to have a positive test.

I have to pick up B's medical history on Wednesday. Talk about expensive to get a copy of his records. 20.00 for the first 20 pages, then 50 cents a page from page 21-50, then 50+ is 20 cents a page. I am not sure how many pages he has but I am sure I will be paying at least 20.00. Thankfully this lady was much nicer than the first lady I asked. She didn't want me to get his medical records at all...too bad they have to. This lady was much nicer and actually helped me decide exactly what I needed and wanted.

B goes back to the ENT on Wednesday. Praying that the tube has opened up and no surgery is going to be needed. Pray that the tube is open...I don't want to put him under if I don't have to.

Kenzi has to go get her Hepatitis A shot on Wednesday as well. I am not sure how I am going to be in 2 places at one time yet but some how it will all get done. I wonder if I push the shot back 2 weeks if it will cause a problem...hmmm. Might need to call the pediatrician and find out. One more thing to add to my list.

A baby is doing well. She must be growing...she wants to sleep a lot yesterday/today. She took a 3 hour nap yesterday then called it a night at 515 yesterday evening. I woke her up at 9 this morning and she was back asleep by 10 and is still sleeping now. She can climb the stairs now...only if somebody is behind her though...she will just sit right off the steps. I can't believe she is 11 months old already. Where did my sweet little newborn baby go?

UPDATE: I got a call this evening from my doctor. She is on board for testing for Celiac Disease and the lab slip is being faxed to the lab and will be ready for me tomorrow morning. Hmmm now do I wish to have the disease or not....lots of mixed feelings. The results should be in Friday but I won't get them until Monday due to my doctor's office closed on Friday. Hmm can I call the lab and get the results from there?

Our Easter

I don't have many pictures of the day but here are a few. We spent Sunday at my parents house doing egg hunts, finding the kid's baskets and just playing out side. We actually all got sun burnt besides the baby. She was the only safe one.

Ahna was in the stroller at the Easter Egg Hunt at church.

What a weekend

Today we took the kids to an Easter egg hunt. It was lots of fun for them. Braxton knew exactly what to do and was running around trying to get all the eggs he could. Makenzi had a ball. Each child gets a prize the egg hunt. Braxton got a squirt gun and Kenzi got 2 kites. They even gave little Arianna a prize...she got a sand bucket with shovel. Then the Easter Bunny arrived on the Firetruck. Braxton thought the firetruck was great but wouldn't go near the Easter Bunny.

Our funny of the trip. Braxton got his squirt gun and likes to pretend to hunt. We have told him he can only shoot deer, bear, turkeys, bunnies, squirrel. I reminded him today when he got the squirt gun not to point it at people and pretend to shoot them. Well he went up to the Easter Bunny and pretended to shoot the Bunny. I about died. We corrected him and he looked at us and said "it is a bunny and we can eat a bunny". Everybody thought it was great...I was a little embarrassed.

On the home front. Our side yard was ripped up today. Our washing machine wasn't draining right so we had to rip the tile up and lay a new one. My dad came up with the backhoe and helped thank goodness or we would still be digging next year. I had to go to the store and buy tile and supplies. That was a joke. Some of those workers don't know anything. Finally I found a worker who knew a thing or two. It only took me and hour to buy two things that should of taken 15 minutes.

Tomorrow is Easter and I am very excited to get the 3 kids dressed up and looking nice for the day. The kids are excited about the bunny coming and finding their baskets in the morning. Then we are heading to church and then to my parent's house. My mom is making a big brunch for us. The kids will get baskets there and also do a big egg hunt outside. We will end up spending the day there. It should be a fun relaxing day!

I hope everybody has a WONDERFUL Easter!

A little history

I am going to start blogging some about our process through the Celiac Disease. I have been researching like crazy so I can go in educated and ask lots of questions and hopefully get lots of answers.

Braxton's GI specialist is Dr. Sujal Rangwalla at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital. I have done as much research as I can on him and haven't come up with much. It looks like he graduated from Med School in 2003, is doing a Fellowship in Ann Arbor.

Through my research I have found some interesting stuff. Stuff that I never really thought of. Celiac's and Hyperemesis Gravidum can be linked. I had Hyperemesis Gravidum with all three of my pregnancies...it was worst with the girls than the boy but still present. Celiac's will also cause small babies. All three of our children were small yet average. I also went through IUGR with the children. Why this happens is because a mother with Celiac's disease has malabsorbtion and the fetus does not get the proper nutrients to grow. Go figure. Right now I am not diagnosised but I will be tested for sure now. Also when I was younger 8-18 I used to get really sick. I would start vomiting and end up in the hospital. I had lots and lots of test done with never an answer. Looks like we may have an answer before too long.

I just went through Braxton's medical history and wrote it all up so I can take it with me. I am pondering whether or not to get all of his medical records from the pediatrician...do they already send them or not? If not should I get them and take them with me? I wouldn't mind getting them released so I can read them and go through them all myself before I go? I never thought my 3 year old son would have 3 pages of medical history.

I will still be posting lots of other stuff. The kids are so excited that Arianna is going to be 1 next month... as for me I am not as excited. Why do they grow so fast. I haven't decided yet if we will do a party for her by herself or if we will do a big party with all the kids like we had planned. I am kind of leaning toward a special 1st birthday party. Need to talk to Scott about it.
