Just Another Year

We are several months into 2013 and it has been an eventful year already.

January thru the first weekend of March, we were busy running to swim 3 nights a week, wrestling 2 nights a week, and spent every weekend in a gym or swimming pool area. 
                    
                           Arianna and Makenzi both had good seasons.  Arianna brought home at least 6 ribbons this year which is awesome considering she is only 4 and swimming against kids that are 5-8 years old.  She was the youngest swimmer in the league this year, she got the biggest applause in every event (granted that may have partly been to the fact everybody was thrilled the event was over...she touble about 3 times as long to finish the race as all the other kids...but she always finished).  Makenzi had to move up in age groups this year, so she had some tougher competition.  She was not able to make state time this year, but next year she will easily.  Makenzi did very well and tried a couple new events this year.  She loves to swim the 200 freestyle, so hopefully she will stick with that next year as well.
                           Braxton had a good in wrestling too.  He wrestled at 6 different tournaments this year.  2 of them were a differentt division of wrestling (Mywa instead of MMWA).  He ended his season of MMWA with a 7-7 but he brought home several 3rd place medals. The MYWA events were team events.  In the first tournament of that he wrestled twice and was 1-1.  His team went to State in Battle Creek in February and placed 4th overall.  He wrestled one time there and unfortunately lost his match, but it was a tough team and none of our kids won their matches.  He fought hard and was happy to wrestle. 

Makenzi joined the Drama Club this year at school.  The performances were this past weekend.  3 shows in 3 days.  It was a really fun play and Makenzi did great.  Her group got up and sang their song.  Makenzi knew their part so well.  She was so happy to hear that our Church is doing a play and she couldn't wait to sign up for that.  That production will be in May...3 shows in 3 days again!  Should be fun!

Arianna is doing dance and before we know it her Recital will be here (May again..thankfully the weekend after Makenzi's play).

Baseball starts in 3 weeks for Makenzi, and about 6 weeks for Arianna and Braxton.  3 different teams this year, 4 days a week.  Makenzi is moving up to actual softball...all girls, traveling to neighboring towns.  Braxton is on machine pitch again.  They play games (3 outs, they get 12 balls pitched to them, they don't hit one, they are out) to start teaching them the basics of the game.  Arianna is starting T-ball.  This should be interesting. 

Scott starts a new job soon.  He will be driving for a company from St. Johns.  I am praying this is the job he loves.  Neither one of us like change, but we have to make a change..he isn't getting the work he was told he would get at this job which means the paychecks aren't what they should be.  Doesn't help that the company he is leaving worked for GM so every time they close Scott doesn't work and doesn't get paid.  I never knew GM was closed so much.  Hopefully this job is what everybody says it is...I guess it would be a good sign that they have employees that have been there for 25 years so I hope it really is. 

I am in a class right now, but I have another one coming up soon.  It will be a big commitment.  4 days a week, from 8-430 and then the second portion is 630a to 230p.  It is only 4 weeks long but falls at a very busy time for us.  The last month of school, the first month of baseball (for the younger two, and when Makenzi's games all start)..but no matter when I do it, we will be busy, so it is time to just get it out of the way.  The benefit is that it will get me a certification and I can start working in the health field come fall when the kids are back in school and while I wait to get into the nursing program!!!

Busy household this year!  One day at a time is all we can do!
